2018 Gala & Auction
What a fun and successful evening at this year’s Gala on Saturday, November 3 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Our awardees were Michael Anthony Hood-Bey who received the Outstanding Achievement Award, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church which received the Outstanding Partner Award, and Tom Bauder who received the Compassionate Samaritan Award.
The 155 guests and staff members attending we raised over $81,000 to support the work of more than 900 Next Step Participants and more than 300 drop-in visitors. We sincerely thank Independent Project Analysis for their sponsorship, as well as Mindy's Catering, Grassroot Communication, Jane Bishop and Dr. Robert Gifford (Dessert sponsors), as well as all our other sponsors for making the evening possible.
More than 50 donors contributed auction items from VIP tickets to The Late Late Show with James Corden and a two-Day Bicycle Tour from DC-to-Harpers Ferry-to-DC, to handmade jewelry and baskets of goodies from Italy, Provençal, Mexico, Fair Trade, and, of course, wine. To all who donated their time, talent and treasure to make the auction possible: thank you!
Our special thanks to The Rev. Glenna J. Huber, Rector of Church of the Epiphany, DC, for being our Emcee; John McMillen, auctioneer; the St. Andrew's Episcopal School Ensemble, for their wonderful music, and; St. Andrew's Episcopal School for hosting us in their beautiful Student Center.
