* Gift cards work well for Next Step Program participants, many of whom live in shelters or transitional housing or new apartments of their own and can use gift cards for needed items. We ask for grocery store gift cards so participants can get fresh foods like vegetables, fruit, milk, eggs and other perishable items. We ask for Payless Shoes gift cards because many participants get jobs that require work boots or shoes required to work in food service. We also ask for Target gift cards so that our participants can obtain needed items. We ask for Starbucks gift cards to give as a treat.
