Friends of Samaritan Ministry is top Walkathon sponsoring partner group

Because of Samaritan Ministry's dedicated donors - including partner parishes, individuals, foundations and others - Samaritan Ministry will receive not only the entire $100,000 donated through the Help the Homeless Program, but a $20,000 bonus. Additionally, the walker incentive award for 1,500 walkers will give Samaritan Ministry a $25,000 bonus. It looks like we did not reach the 3,000 walker mark, which would have resulted in an additional $25,000 bonus. But it was not from the lack of the efforts of many. Maybe next year! We estimate that 1,800 people registered and walked for Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington, which means a likely $30,000 in registration fees. Final numbers will not be released until March when the Community Foundation, administrators of the Help the Homeless Fund, distributes funds to participating agencies.
